Overview
The Science and Technology program at the University of Montpellier is offered by the Faculty of Education (hereinafter referred to as FdE), the Faculty of Sciences (hereinafter referred to as FdS), and the Institute of Business Administration (hereinafter referred to as IAE).
The program is divided into two groups of specific tracks based on the departments that offer them. Thus:

Education Group:

The FdE offers two programs: STIEF (“Engineering Sciences and Technologies for Education and Training”) and LP&MEEF (“Interdisciplinarity and the Teaching Profession in Education and Training”).

The FdS, in collaboration with the FdE, offers a program titled “Science in Elementary Education and Science Communication,” known as SPDMS, which trains students who plan to become elementary school teachers or science communicators.

A management program led by the IAE, offering several tracks:

Management Sciences and Technologies (MST). Classes are held in person at the IAE in Montpellier. In addition, two agreements have been established with the University of Montpellier’s IUTs and the Montpellier Business School (MBS) Group to implement learning agreements that validate the IAE’s third-year degree (L3).

Multimedia Product Management (MTM). This program is organized in partnership with Lycée Jean Monnet, which is recognized within the Montpellier School District for its two-year post-high-school programs in Multimedia and Design. This degree is offered through an apprenticeship program in collaboration with the CFA Universitaire.

Information Systems and Management Control (SICG). This program is available through an apprenticeship with Forma Poste.

Management Sciences and Technologies (e-learning). This program has been available since October 2018.

International Management for Science and Technology (MIST) (Program offered under an agreement with the University of Augsburg) This agreement allows our students to study abroad during the 6th semester and, if they wish, to continue on to the M1 program in Germany and then return to the IAE M1 program in the second semester.

Objectives
The objectives vary depending on the track within the major:
- For the teaching track, the main objective is to prepare students to become teachers and to consider pursuing a Master's degree in Elementary or Secondary Education (MEEF) or a Master's degree in Science Communication.
- For the management track, the programs are structured around the fundamental concepts of management and prepare students to enter the IAE’s master’s programs, other master’s programs in management at French universities, or to enter the workforce.

Interdisciplinarity and Professions in Teaching, Education, and Training [FDE]
The Faculty of Education at the University of Montpellier offers a multidisciplinary bachelor’s degree program at its campuses in Carcassonne, Nîmes, Montpellier, Mende, and Perpignan, which serves as a prerequisite for its MEEF master’s programs designed to prepare students for a career in teaching.
Science in Elementary School and Science Outreach [FDS]
This is a pre-professional program preparing students for careers as elementary school teachers: “Science in Elementary Education and Science Outreach.”
Management, Technology, and Science [IAE]
Designed for students in technical or scientific programs, the Bachelor’s Degree in Science and Technology is a broad-based, career-oriented program. It trains future managers in the field of Science and Technology Management.
Multimedia Product Design and Marketing (CCPM) [IAE]
The Multimedia Product Design & Marketing (CCPM) program is a foundational bachelor’s degree program offered through a work-study format. Information Systems and Management Control [IAE]
Come study management accounting through a work-study program at IAE Montpellier.
We offer a work-study SICG bachelor’s degree program designed to prepare you for positions as an assistant management controller and to qualify you for admission to a master’s program. This bachelor’s degree is a generalist program, not a professional one, which will allow you to pursue various master’s programs (in particular, the SICG master’s program at IAE Montpellier). This program is also offered as both an initial and continuing education program.

Information Systems and Business Development (IAE)
Come study business development through a work-study program at IAE Montpellier.
We offer a work-study SIDC bachelor’s degree program designed to enable you to work as a sales assistant and prepare you for admission to a master’s program. This is a generalist, non-professional degree, which will allow you to pursue a variety of master’s programs. This program is also available as an initial and continuing education course.
The bachelor’s program consists of two semesters. The first semester covers general management subjects in addition to courses related to business development. Specialization then continues in the second semester, particularly in the area of tools for digitizing business operations. Admission is based on an application review and a motivational interview.

Admission Requirements
With the exception of the FdE’s LP&MEEF track—for which applicants apply through ParcourSup after high school—the other tracks are open to students in their third year of undergraduate studies (L3) through a merit-based application process that includes their first- and second-year (L1 and L2) grades and a statement of purpose.
Target Audience
For the teaching track: students who have completed a science-focused curriculum in their first and second years of undergraduate study and who wish to pursue careers in elementary or technical education.
For the management track: students who have completed a science and technology program in their first and second years of undergraduate study
Mandatory Prerequisites
Students applying through ParcourSup must have earned a Baccalauréat. Students entering the third year (L3) must have successfully completed the second year (L2).
Expected Results
The Mon Master platform displays two “salaried employment rates in France” for each program at 6 and 18 months. These two rates, known as “INSERSUP” rates, exclude graduates working in the self-employed sector, business owners, artisans, or those working abroad. These rates therefore do not reflect the reality of professional integration. Furthermore, some Mon Master programs do not display INSERSUP rates because, since the employment rate in France effectively excludes many graduates who are already employed, the threshold for statistical reliability is no longer met.
To obtain completely reliable information covering all graduates who entered the job market directly without continuing their studies, we recommend that you visit the University of Montpellier’s website (https://osipe.edu.umontpellier.fr). These employment rates are calculated at the 30-month mark (number of graduates in employment / number of graduates who are either employed or seeking employment). This data is collected by OSIPE (Observatory for Student Monitoring and Professional Integration).
