Overview
This is a pre-professional program preparing students for careers as elementary school teachers: “Science in Elementary Education and Science Outreach.”
Objectives
The training program has the following objectives:
- to encourage students to pursue a career as an elementary school teacher,
- to provide students with a high-level scientific education in biology, mathematics, and physics and chemistry,
- improve proficiency in the French language,
- to introduce students to child psychology, learning theories, the philosophy of education, and the pedagogy of the sciences
- to introduce students to the school environment, particularly through two internships at schools that allow them to apply all the skills they have acquired,
- develop teamwork skills to solve problems collectively and communicate orally and in writing.

The training program focuses on the various skills required for the teaching profession:

Organization
Knowledge Assessment
Assessment procedures vary by course unit. They consist of a combination of ongoing assessment, a final exam, and oral exams. These procedures are formally approved by the Faculty of Sciences Council every year in September.
Special Features
Some courses may be offered remotely in the event of an exceptional decision or circumstance.

The program is organized over two semesters and consists of several course units:

- Elementary Geometry (5 ECTS credits)
- Algorithms, Computer Science, and Digital Technology in Schools (5 ECTS credits)
