Description
The EU addresses theoretical concepts in plant biology, using the group of Spermatophytes as a model. It aims to define the concepts and specific vocabulary of morphology, anatomy, reproduction, and biological cycles.
Objectives
- Master the concepts of morphology, anatomy, reproduction, and biological cycles of plants
- Master the specific vocabulary related to these four topics
- Master the codes for representing plant tissues and organs (morphological diagram, anatomical diagram, floral diagram, longitudinal section of a flower)
- Understand the structure and functioning of a typical plant

Syllabus
3 CM allows for the explanation of theoretical concepts and vocabulary: CM1, Plant Morphology; CM2, Plant Anatomy; CM3, Reproduction and Life Cycles.
Five tutorials cover the different types of graphical representations used to illustrate these concepts: Tutorial 1, Morphological diagram; Tutorial 2, Primary anatomy; Tutorial 3, Secondary anatomy; Tutorial 4, Floral diagram and longitudinal section; Tutorial 5, Life cycle.
Finally, four practical sessions allow students to work on biological material: PS1, Morphology; PS2, Anatomy; PS3, Floral Morphology; PS4, Fruit Morphology.
