Objectives

- Understand the processes involved in basin formation in different geodynamic contexts.
- Be able to analyze the subsidence of different types of sedimentary basins.
- Position the development of reservoirs (containing natural resources) in the formation of sedimentary basins.
- Establish the genetic links between the formation of mineral and energy resources and the processes of formation and development of sedimentary basins.
- Put theoretical concepts into practice in simplified case studies, in the classroom and in the field
- Raise awareness among future exploration geologists of environmental, economic, and societal issues.
