Description
The Bibliographic Project UE provides training in documentary research, including the use of search engines, databases and bibliographic reference management tools. Students work in pairs on a topic they have defined themselves, in line with their training. This documentary research is enhanced by the writing of a synthesis and a poster.
Objectives
The objectives are: (i) to support students' learning to search for and manage bibliographical references, using appropriate tools (ii) to encourage the development of a critical approach to the information used in bibliographical research (iii) to encourage the development of skills linked to the synthesis of information from a variety of sources, and to scientific writing.
Knowledge control
The assessment will cover :
- Defining and problematizing a topic of your choice related to your training program
- Preparing a written summary
- Poster design
Syllabus
The EU content is structured around 4 sequences:
- defining a subject and problematizing
- applying documentary research methods
- writing a summary
- poster production and 180-second flash presentation
The target skills are as follows:
- Formulating a problem ;
- Master the tools and methods of documentary research, in particular :
- know how to assess the relevance of sources ;
- how to select a list of references ;
- Master the Zotero software ;
- Improve your scientific writing skills.
The course is structured as follows: two theoretical sessions, one practical session and personal work.
