Description

This is a cross-disciplinary course that mobilizes a variety of tools and knowledge:

  • in the form of a workshop,
  • over a long period of time during M2: a single project organized in two complementary periods (Interdisciplinary Project 1 and Interdisciplinary Project 2) for common pedagogical objectives and skills acquisition.

It allows students to carry out an interdisciplinary project in its entirety, in the form of an interdisciplinary study relating to socio-political, economic, environmental and sanitary issues, hydrological or hydraulic modeling, risk management, etc.

Objectives

  • To develop transversal and interdisciplinary skills in relation to the project's themes. Develop expertise on these themes.
  • Mobilize and implement acquired skills and previous professional experience to respond to an operational and/or scientific order.
  • Analyze the issues at stake, go deeper and propose courses of action.
  • Report the results obtained with rigor and in a reasoned manner.
  • Acquire autonomy in terms of project management.

Syllabus

This EU is conducted as follows:

  • Definition of interdisciplinary study topics with external partners and sponsors (operational, scientific, etc.) or within the teaching team in connection with ongoing projects
  • Constitution of project groups, definition of objectives, methods and organization by group
  • Carrying out the study
    • data collection, analysis of the context, making contacts
    • alternating phases of collective, small group and individual work
    • supervised and independent work sessions
    • methodological contributions according to needs
    • regular deliverables throughout the year.

- Phase of restitution of the study: oral defense in front of a jury and scientific and technical report presenting elements of response to the order.
