Description

This is a cross-disciplinary course that mobilizes a variety of tools and knowledge:

  • in the form of a workshop,
  • over a longer period of time during M2: a single project organized into 2 complementary phases (Interdisciplinary Project 1 and Interdisciplinary Project 2) for common pedagogical objectives and skills acquisition.

It enables students to carry out an interdisciplinary project in its entirety, in the form of an interdisciplinary study relating to socio-political, economic, environmental and health issues, hydrological or hydraulic modeling, risk management, etc.

Objectives

  • Develop cross-disciplinary and interdisciplinary skills related to the project's themes. Develop expertise in these areas.
  • Mobilize and apply acquired skills and previous professional experience to meet operational and/or scientific requirements.
  • Analyze the issues at stake, go into greater depth and propose courses of action.
  • Present the results obtained with rigor and argument.
  • Acquire autonomy in terms of project management.

Syllabus

This UE takes place as follows:

  • Definition of interdisciplinary study topics with external partners and sponsors (operational, scientific, etc.) or within the teaching team in connection with ongoing projects.
  • Setting up project groups, defining objectives, methods and group organization
  • Carrying out the study
    • data collection, context analysis, contacts
    • alternating group, small-group and individual work phases
    • supervised and independent work sessions
    • methodological support as needed
    • regular deliverables throughout the year.

- Study presentation phase: oral presentation to a panel of judges and a scientific and technical report presenting elements of a response to the order.
