Water and food

This course introduces students to the issues associated with different uses of water and liquid waste, as well as the methodology to be implemented to identify the associated critical points.

- Understand regulations governing different uses of water.
- Identify substances that may pose a risk to consumer health.
- Understand investigation methods in the event of a health alert related to water quality and its management.
- Understand the constraints, approach, and solutions associated with wastewater management in the agri-food industry.

PROGRAM:

- Water quality and different uses in the agri-food sector - 3 hours of lectures
- Regulations governing water intended to come into contact with food - 4 hours of lectures / 3 hours of tutorials
- Natural mineral water in bottles and on-site use - 3 hours of lectures / 2 hours of tutorials
- Management of health alerts and quality limit exceedances 10 hours of lectures - 10 hours of tutorials
- Characteristics of wastewater from the agri-food industry (IAA) - 2hCM
- Constraints and regulations associated with IAA wastewater - 2hCM
- Approach and main processes for treating IAA wastewater - 6hCM / 5hTD
