Description
Reliability is one of the 4 components of the SdF which are Reliability, Maintainability, Availability and Security. This fundamental component of the SdF is taught in this UE both on the qualitative and quantitative aspects.
Objectives
To provide the fundamental elements for the statistical study of component and system reliability. Based on functional analysis and test results, students should be able to use these concepts to analyze the reliability of components and systems, and propose solutions to improve it.

Probability and statistical calculations
Recommended prerequisites* :
Knowledge of Poisson, Exponential, Normal and Weibull laws is recommended.

Defining Reliability
Failure analysis: Optimization of Maintenance through Reliability (OMF), functional analysis, FMECA, Pareto's law, reliability graphs.

Reliability calculations: functions: reliability, failure probability, failure probability density, failure rate, MTBF, Mathematical Expectation of Failure, reliability composition laws (series, redundancies)
Reliability analysis using Normal, Exponential and Weibull distributions
Models of accelerated aging (Arrhenius model, Eyring model, etc.); notions of aggravated aging
