Description
The substitution of materials of petroleum origin is an increasingly important issue from both a technological and economic point of view. This module provides skills in the field of agropolymers, biosourced polymers, degradable materials and biocomposites. New and more environmentally friendly synthesis routes will be presented in order to prepare synthetic degradable polymers
Degradation, biodegradation and recyclability of polymers will also be addressed
Hourly volumes* :
CM : 11CM
TD : 9 TD
Objectives
- Gain knowledge of agromaterials, agroplastics/agropolymers, and synthetic degradable polymers.
- Acquire knowledge in the field of biocomposites
- Learn the different techniques of environmentally friendly polymerization (organocatalyzed polymerization, enzymatic polymerization...) and the different polymerization processes (polymerization in heterogeneous media: suspension, emulsion).
- Recycling
- Application of polymers in pollution control
Necessary pre-requisites
M1 Chemistry of materials or equivalent, M1 Chemistry of polymers,
It is necessary to have previously followed the module "Polymers" (HAC726C) of Master Chemistry 1 dealing with the notions of organic materials through their synthesis and structure-properties relationships.
M1 with in-depth knowledge of Macromolecular Chemistry and Polymeric Materials
Knowledge control
2-hour final exam
