This course covers techniques for extracting biomolecules (protein precipitation, SPE), as well as techniques for separating biomolecules (chromatography, electrophoresis).

Acquire theoretical and practical knowledge of techniques for extracting and separating biomolecules. Know how to choose an extraction and separation technique depending on the matrix and the nature of the compounds to be studied and/or purified.

Syllabus

Regarding the lectures: 7.5 hours will be devoted to methods of extraction and separation of biomolecules and 1.5 hours to teaching capillary electrophoresis.

Several practical work sessions will illustrate these concepts: -

  • HPTLC applied to biomolecules
  • Capillary electrophoresis (chiral separation of AA),
  • SPE-HPLC biomolecules
