Description
The principles of Green Chemistry provide a basis for the evaluation and design of new chemical products and processes that minimize negative impacts on human health and the environment. In this teaching unit, offered to M2 students in the Master of Biomolecular Chemistry (BM), Orientation 2 (O2), the basic principles and concepts of Green Chemistry will be covered, and their applications in the field of non-conventional activation methods and the use of alternative media in organic synthesis.
Hourly volumes* :
CM: 9 H
Field: 11 a.m.
Objectives
The aim of this course is to deepen and extend the student's theoretical and practical knowledge of green chemistry, with particular emphasis on activation methods and alternative media. At the end of this course, students will be able to: 1 - implement an organic synthesis process, taking into account the principles of green chemistry; 2 - use non-conventional activation methods in organic chemistry; 3 - adapt their synthesis strategy by using alternative solvents (water) or carrying out solvent-free reactions; 4 - use sonochemical and mechanochemical equipment.
Necessary prerequisites
Organic chemistry level M1
Knowledge of the basic principles of green chemistry and green chemistry activation techniques.
Knowledge control
1.5 hour written final exam
