Description
The principles of green chemistry provide a basis for evaluating and designing new chemical products and processes that minimize negative impacts on human health and the environment. In this teaching unit, offered to M2 students in the Master's program in Biomolecular Chemistry (BM), Orientation 2 (O2), the basic principles and concepts of green chemistry will be addressed, along with their applications in the field of unconventional activation methods and the use of alternative media in organic synthesis.
Hourly volumes*:
CM: 9 a.m.
Field: 11 a.m.
Objectives
The objective of this course unit is to deepen and broaden students' theoretical and practical knowledge in the field of green chemistry, particularly in the area of activation methods and alternative media. At the end of this course unit, students will be able to: 1-implement an organic synthesis process taking into account the principles of green chemistry; 2- use unconventional activation methods in organic chemistry; 3- adapt their synthesis strategy by using alternative solvents (water) or carry out solvent-free reactions; 4- use sonochemistry and mechanochemistry equipment.
