The Master M.T.S. provides knowledge, know-how and skills in the interconnected fields of sports management, tourism and leisure. Since 1992, Montpellier's UFR STAPS has offered a Master's degree in sports tourism management as part of its sports management program. The Master in Sports Tourism Management (M.T.S.) has trained over 800 professionals in the sector. Today, it relies on a team of 10 professionals recognized in their sectors (tourism marketing, communication, facilities management, TOs, nature sport consultants, etc.) and 11 university lecturers (research professors, PRAG and ATER). In the Master 2 program, 70% of teaching is provided by professionals: tour operators, ski resorts, tourist offices, receptive leisure centers, etc.
Objectives
The courses have 3 objectives, developed through 5 cross-disciplinary skill areas:
Objective 1: Consolidate management fundamentals ;
Objective 2: Understand and understand sports tourism: players, issues and strategies ;
Objective 3: Deepen skills in communication, marketing and management.
- Skills area 1: Manage the activities of sports tourism companies;
- Skills area 2: Manage resources and people. Adaptation and transversality;
- Competency axis 3: Ensure the quality of sport tourism services, internally and for customers
- Competency axis 4: Market sport tourism products and services in line with changes in society;
- Competency axis 5: Communicate and market efficiently.

Target audience
The M.T.S. Master's degree is aimed at students with a variety of backgrounds (M.S. staps degree, professional degree in tourism, info/com degree or languages and civilizations, depending on applications and projects). Continuing education students are admitted on the basis of a specific project. We are keen to welcome foreign students to enrich our training. Admission to the M.T.S. Master's program is subject to examination of an application file, the assessment of which focuses on the level of results obtained in the Bachelor's program, the wealth and diversity of experience in the field of sports services and tourism, mastery of communication tools and, above all, the inclusion of a professional project resolutely oriented towards the field of sports tourism.
