The M.T.S. Master’s program provides knowledge, expertise, and skills in the interconnected fields of management, tourism, and sports recreation. Since 1992, the STAPS Department at the University of Montpellier has offered a Master’s in Sports Tourism Management as part of its sports management program. The Master’s in Sports Tourism Management (M.T.S.) has trained more than 800 professionals in the sector. Today, the program is supported by a team of 10 professionals recognized in their respective fields (tourism marketing, communications, facility management, tour operators, outdoor sports consultants, etc.) and 11 academic instructors (faculty members, PRAGs, and ATERs). In the second year of the Master’s program, 70% of the courses are taught by professionals: tour operators, ski resorts, tourism offices, recreational facilities, and more.
