Description
The EU Bibliographic Project consists of training in documentary research, including the use of search engines, databases, and bibliographic reference management tools. Students work in pairs on a topic they have chosen themselves, related to their course of study. This documentary research is enhanced by the writing of a summary and a poster.
Objectives
The objectives are: (i) to support students' learning in the area of research and bibliographic reference management by utilizing appropriate tools; (ii) to encourage the development of critical thinking skills with regard to the information gathered from bibliographic research; (iii) to promote the development of skills related to synthesizing information from various sources and scientific writing.
Knowledge assessment
The evaluation will focus on:
- Defining a topic of your choice related to the training and its problematization
- Writing a written summary
- Creating a poster
Syllabus
The content of the EU is divided into four sections:
- definition of a topic and problematization
- implementation of documentary research methods
- writing a summary
- production of a poster and creation of a 180-second flash presentation
The targeted skills are as follows:
- Knowing how to formulate a problem;
- Mastering the tools and methods of documentary research, in particular:
- know how to evaluate the relevance of sources;
- know how to select a list of references;
- Mastering Zotero software;
- Improve your scientific writing skills.
The course is structured as follows: two theory sessions, one practical session, and independent study.
