Description
Bibliographical study on a research theme associated with the course and which may be related to the M2 internship subject.
80 hours of personal work spread over the first semester of M2. Several meetings to review the progress of the project will be scheduled with the expert supervisors and the scientific coordinators of the course.
Objectives
- Completion of a literature review project on a selected topic that may potentially lead to simulations or experimental data analysis.
- Discover, learn and use bibliographic research tools and platforms
- Synthesize in the form of a short bibliographic report a current research topic, in relation with an expert researcher of the chosen research theme.
- Develop critical scientific thinking in the context of a peer review of the various reports of the class.
Necessary pre-requisites
Level M1 of Fundamental Physics and Applications
Knowledge control
Evaluation of the project management by the expert supervisor.
Bibliographic report presented to a jury of peers.
Evaluation of the synthetic bibliographic report of 4 to 5 pages maximum by a jury composed of the scientific coordinators of the course and teachers of the master.
Syllabus
After a short training in methodology and the use of tools for bibliographic research, students will be supervised by a teacher-researcher or researcher who is an expert in the chosen research topic to produce a synthetic bibliographic report.
Peer review is envisioned, which will lead students to discover several topics and develop a critical eye for writing a review paper.
These projects can be preparations for internship subjects and are therefore also an opportunity to get in touch with the actors of the different laboratories.
