Presentation

This program aims to prepare students for careers in secondary education with two main objectives.
The first relates to specialization in technology taught in middle school, engineering sciences taught in general and technological high schools, as well as Industrial Science and Technology and Sustainable Development (STI 2D). The courses cover subjects such as mechanics, electronics, civil engineering, automation, and digital computing, which are seen as resources for analyzing multi-technology systems. The fields of education sciences are also explored in depth: the education system, teaching methods, pedagogy, curricula, and reference frameworks. This part of the program aims to prepare students for the four options of the "CAPET Industrial Engineering Sciences" certificate, which is intended for the recruitment of teachers in these specialties in middle schools, high schools, and even certain BTS programs. It is also intended for current or contract teachers who wish to train for a qualification to teach in middle schools and/or high schools.
The second objective, relating to vocational high schools, specializes future workshop teachers in preparing vocational students in the fields of Industrial Science and Technology (STI) (mechanical, electrical, civil engineering, etc.). In addition to the traditional contributions in the fields of Industrial Science and Technology, which are essential to these courses, the master's program also includes significant contributions in education sciences and teaching methods, based on official reference frameworks and lesson preparation training. It goes without saying that aspects related to oral and written communication, which are necessary for the teaching profession, will also be addressed.
In both cases, preparation for competitive examinations remains, of course, an essential objective, with the longer-term goal of training professional and reflective teachers who can deliver high-quality instruction. An approach to research initiation seen as learning through research is also part of the curriculum of this master's program.
