  1. Safe operation approach and definition
  2. Definition and analysis of the 4 components of SoF: Reliability, Maintainability, Availability and Safety.
  3. Quantitative approach to SoF :

- Reliability analysis and calculation

- Maintainability analysis and calculation: Maintainability function, associated repair rate, repair time distribution, MTTR, etc.

- Analysis and calculation of availability (intrinsic, operational); composition of availabilities

- Markov chains

- SoFt costs
