Description
This compulsory UE will enable students to deepen their skills acquired in "S3 biochemistry". It will enable them to understand cellular metabolism through:
-understanding bioenergetics to study the processes by which living cells transport, transmit, use, accumulate and release energy;
-studying the catabolism and anabolism of carbohydrates, lipids, nucleotides and amino acids, and the metabolic interactions between these pathways.
- description of metabolic pathologies.
Objectives
-Knowledge :
Master the laws of thermodynamics and redox;
In-depth study of carbohydrate metabolism, including gluconeogenesis, the pentose phosphate pathway, glycogen and oxidative phoshorylation;
Understand the anabolism and catabolism of nucleotides, amino acids and lipids;
Understand how each metabolic pathway is regulated, and the links and coordination that exist between them;
The aim of this course is to create a metabolic map.
-People skills :
Be able to grasp courses;
Ability to organize, work alone, produce regular work even in the absence of supervision;
Be motivated;
Be able to link enzymology/metabolism lessons with physiology and cell/molecular biology lessons;
Ability to synthesize.
