Description
- Cell biology: cytoskeleton, membranes and membrane transport, extracellular matrix, organelles, origin of life and organization of viruses, prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells.
- Biochemistry: structure of biological macromolecules (nucleic acids, proteins, lipids, and sugars), definitions of polymer chains, classification and roles of biological polymers (proteins, nucleic acids, polysaccharides), folding and structuring of biological macromolecules, intra- and inter-molecular physicochemical interactions, biosynthesis and stability of macromolecules.
- Integrative biology and organism biology: angiosperm nutrition, animal and plant physiology
- Ecology: introduction to ecology, biogeochemical cycles, paleoecology
