Description
- Cell biology: cytoskeleton, membranes and membrane transport, extracellular matrix, organelles, the origin of life, and the structure of viruses, prokaryotic cells, and eukaryotic cells.
- Biochemistry: structure of biological macromolecules (nucleic acids, proteins, lipids, and sugars); definitions of polymer chains; classification and roles of biological polymers (proteins, nucleic acids, polysaccharides), folding and structuring of biological macromolecules, intra- and intermolecular physicochemical interactions, biosynthesis and stability of macromolecules.
- Integrative biology and organismal biology: nutrition in angiosperms, animal and plant physiology
- Ecology: Introduction to Ecology, Biogeochemical Cycles, Paleoecology
