Cardiac Physiology

The cardiovascular physiology course aims to describe and provide knowledge about the functioning of the cardiovascular system, from the whole animal down to the cellular and molecular levels. Topics to be studied include cardiac contraction, the regulation of cardiac electrical activity (electrocardiogram and ion channels), the regulation of blood pressure and the baroreflex, and the regulation of cardiovascular functions by the autonomic nervous system.
