Description
This compulsory course will allow students to deepen their skills acquired in "S3 biochemistry". It will allow them to understand cellular metabolism through:
-The understanding of bioenergetics in order to study the processes by which living cells carry, transmit, use, store and release energy;
-the study of catabolism and anabolism of carbohydrates, lipids, nucleotides, amino acids and the metabolic interactions between these pathways.
- description of metabolic pathologies.
Objectives
-Knowledge:
Master the laws of thermodynamics and redox;
To delve into carbohydrate metabolism including gluconeogenesis, the pentose phosphate pathway, glycogen and oxidative phoshorylation ;
Understand the anabolism and catabolism of nucleotides, amino acids and lipids;
Understand the modes of regulation of each of the metabolic pathways, the links and coordination between them;
Objective of this EU: to make a metabolic map.
-Know how to be :
To be able to understand the courses;
Knowing how to organize oneself, knowing how to work alone, providing regular work even in the absence of control;
Be motivated;
To be able to make the link between the enzymology/metabolism lessons and the physiology and cell/molecular biology lessons;
Be able to synthesize.
