Description
This module should enable students to acquire:
Basic notions in Physiology : Concept of homeostasis; levels of organization of the human body; compartments of the Internal Environment; study of the endocrine system; acid-base and hydro-mineral balance; anatomical and functional studies of the central and peripheral nervous system.
Basic concepts in Immunology:
General presentation of the immune system; study of T and B lymphocytes, antigen presenting cells; study of antimicrobial immunity and complement.
Objectives
-Know-how :
In physiology, to know the differences between cells, tissues, organs and systems; to know the different fluid compartments of the organism; to understand the regulations that contribute to homeostasis; to integrate the anatomo-functional organization of the central and peripheral nervous system; to know the effectors of the peripheral nervous system, their regulation and functioning To know the difference between hormone, neuro-hormone and neurotransmitter in terms of place of synthesis, chemical structure, receptors and regulation of secretion.
In immunology, to know the different actors of the immune response and the adapted responses against bacteria and viruses.
-Skills: Acquire fundamental and basic notions in animal physiology and
Immunology, in order to integrate more complex and specific notions later on.
