Description

This course introduces students to project management, taking into account the major issues at stake in corporate performance, and puts them in a position to manage key phases of the product design process.

This project-based teaching approach provides a detailed analysis of each phase of the design process, in the form of case studies. Students learn how to generate an idea (creativity, functional analysis) right through to product architecture.

Objectives

  • Draft initial specifications (innovative project)

  • Draw up functional specifications (functional analysis, function characterization)

  • Draw up functional product specifications (FAST and proposed solutions)

  • Carry out a study of the principle solution chosen

  • Write a simple calculation note

  • Produce the technical documents needed to manufacture the functional prototype (limited here to 3D printing)

  • Qualify the functional prototype, produced in 3D printing, by verifying the criteria, levels of function characterization

  • Conduct a project review in the presence of the project leader
