Description

This course introduces students to project management, taking into account the major issues of company performance. The student is put in a position to manage the key phases of the product design process.

This project-based teaching allows for the detailed analysis of each phase of the design process in the form of case studies. The student thus learns the methods for generating an idea (creativity, functional analysis) up to the generation of the product architecture.

Objectives

  • Write an initial specification (innovative project)

  • Write a functional specifications need (functional analysis, characterization of functions)

  • Write a functional product specification (FAST and proposal of principle solutions)

  • Conduct a study of the selected principle solution

  • Write a simple calculation note

  • Produce the technical documents necessary to manufacture the functional prototype (limited here to 3D printing)

  • Qualify the functional prototype, made in 3D printing, by verifying the criteria, levels of characterization of functions

  • Conduct a project review in the presence of the project leader
