Presentation
In response to emerging issues related to health, the environment, and citizenship (GMOs, climate change, gender identity, secularism, pandemics, etc.), the education sector and the private sector (social and solidarity economy, associations, local authorities) are increasingly committing to sustainable development policies on a voluntary and sometimes legal basis.
The ReSODDE-ESEC program offers training aimed at developing the skills needed to design and implement training policies in the field of sustainable development, whether in companies (CSR) or in the field of education (health, environment, and citizenship education).
This program is open to students with a bachelor's degree in a general or professional field (or equivalent) and is also aimed at working professionals. It is a two-year program.
Objectives
For students in initial training, the master's degree enables them to become facilitators, trainers, advisors, or project managers in sustainable development education on the themes of health, the environment, and citizenship in the non-profit sector and the international solidarity sector.
It also enables them to pursue careers as project managers in companies for the implementation of CSR in companies that wish to implement a sustainable development policy.
For professionals in continuing education or returning to study, the master's degree enables them to perform support functions within national education institutions, particularly those in the health and medico-social sectors; to strengthen the skills of professionals with recognition within the framework of their activity and/or progression to positions of expertise or training. For professionals in business, it enables them to develop the skills necessary to implement CSR in business and in the public sector.
For all of them, it offers the opportunity to pursue doctoral studies and conduct research in these fields.
Know-how and skills
The ESEC Master's program offers training on sustainable development goals (SDGs) that combines disciplinary knowledge and psychosocial skills. It also helps develop an epistemological culture and an ethical approach to these socially sensitive issues.
Program
The program will be taught in person only, at the Faculty of Education in Montpellier.
During the first year of the master's program, approximately half of the course units are shared with other programs.
The second year of the master's program lasts approximately 20 weeks, with 12 hours of classes per week spread over two days (14 weeks in semester 1 and 10 weeks in semester 2).
A series of classes will also be held during the fall and February breaks.
For professionals returning to school, the program can be completed over several years by capitalizing on the various course units.
The thesis can be based on an internship completed in France or abroad.
