Presentation
In response to the emergence of issues linked to health, the environment and citizenship (GMOs, climate change, sexual identity, secularism, pandemics, etc.), the world of education and the private sector (social economy, associations, local authorities) are becoming increasingly involved, on a voluntary and sometimes legal basis, in sustainable development policies.
The ReSODDE-ESEC course is designed to develop the skills needed to design and implement training policies in the field of sustainable development, whether in companies (CSR) or in the field of education (education for health, the environment, citizenship).
This course is open to students with a general or professional bachelor's degree (or equivalent), as well as to practicing professionals. It takes two years to complete.
Objectives
For students undergoing initial training, the Master's degree can be used to become a facilitator, trainer, advisor or project manager in education for sustainable development on health/environment/citizenship themes in the associative or international solidarity sectors.
It can also lead to careers as project managers in companies wishing to implement a sustainable development policy.
For professionals in continuing education or resuming their studies, the Master's degree enables them to perform support functions within national education institutions, in particular those in the health and medico-social sectors; to reinforce the skills of professionals, with valorization within the context of their own activity and/or evolution towards positions of expertise or training. For corporate professionals, it enables them to develop the skills needed to implement CSR in both the corporate and public sectors.
For all, it offers the opportunity to pursue doctoral studies in these fields.
Know-how and skills
The ESEC Master's program offers training in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), combining disciplinary knowledge and psychosocial skills. It also enables students to develop an epistemological culture and an ethical approach to these socially relevant issues.
Program
The course will take place at the Montpellier Faculty of Education.
In the first year of the Master's program, around half of the UEs are shared with other courses.
The second year of the Master's program lasts around 20 weeks, with 12 hours per week spread over two days (14 weeks in semester 1 and 10 weeks in semester 2).
A grouping of courses will also take place during the autumn and February vacations.
For professionals returning to their studies, this can be achieved over several years by capitalizing on the various UEs.
The dissertation can be based on an internship carried out in France or abroad.
