PhIMV Master's Degree (M2) Internship

An internship lasting at least 5 months in a laboratory, designed to provide immersion in the world of research—both basic and/or applied—and to potentially prepare students for a doctoral dissertation. This internship may be completed in research laboratories and technical facilities in France or abroad.

The goal of the internship is to help students gain experience in applied and basic research in the field of the physics of living matter and biological systems (ranging from molecules to organisms and, potentially, to populations of organisms).

This experience will serve as a springboard for students after they complete their master's degree, whether they decide to pursue a career in public or private research.

In addition, these internships provide an excellent opportunity to learn and gain a deeper understanding of a number of experimental and theoretical techniques (in physics and biology) covered in the courses.

The student is expected to have completed all the course units from the first three semesters of the PhIMV program.

Students are advised to have successfully completed all course units from the first three semesters of the PhIMV program.

The student must submit a written internship report and present the results of his or her work during an oral defense. He or she will be evaluated on the quality of the presentation of his or her work (report and oral defense), on the answers to questions, and also on his or her participation during the internship.
