Knowledge Assessment

Course Outline

Entering the workforce is always a crucial step in a professional career, and it is essential for students to prepare for it as thoroughly as possible. The speakers in this module, who come from the business world, share their professional experiences and encourage students to reflect on their academic background, strengths, and weaknesses, while guiding them in developing and refining their skills assessment.

The goal is, of course, to prepare students to systematically and successfully complete the application process for an internship or their first job. They learn how to effectively analyze job postings (identifying keywords and the recruiter’s expectations, searching for additional information, etc.), how to structure and tailor their resumes and cover letters, and, of course, how to prepare for their job interviews. The specific case of unsolicited applications is also covered.

An initial hands-on experience through role-playing exercises (recruiter/candidate) and mock job interviews allows students to demystify this key stage in a professional career, while gaining a full understanding of their own strengths and the expectations and practices of companies.

Information on labor law (employees' rights and obligations), the concept of an employment contract, and so on is also provided.
