English M1 PFA

English tutorial course for students enrolled in the Master 1 Physics program who wish to become proficient in scientific English.

· Mobilize the four language skills described by the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) at level B2.

· Practice listening to and understanding specialized documents

· Writing popular science reports on a phenomenon

Reading and listening comprehension, basic grammar concepts, and basic written and oral expression skills.

Recommended prerequisites:

CEFR level B1+ in both speaking and writing

Continuous assessment

Attendance and active participation in classes will be required.

· Listening comprehension – video materials, group discussions

· Reading comprehension – based on articles from scientific publications

· Oral expression in interaction – interviews and group work

· Written expression – training in translation and scientific report writing

· Oral expression in individual presentations on the specialty topic
