Created in 2008, the Master's degree in Research and Consulting (M2CO) has established itself as the leading degree-granting course in this sector.
It essentially prepares students for jobs as research managers (quali, quanti, online) and consultants in governance (public policy evaluation, consultation, sectoral offices) or in communication (political communication, digital communication, etc.).
The M2CO is a highly professional training program, taught by a team of experienced academics and leading industry specialists.
Objectives
M2CO's objectives: to train for the production of an expertise in a wide field of activities
The research and consulting professions consist of offering expertise tobodies as diverse as local authorities, associations or political groups, the media, public and private institutions, companies, etc.
This expertise may include:
- to conduct studies for decision-making purposes or to develop customized study protocols (audit, design and management of qualitative and quantitative studies, recommendations, etc.);
- to organize and lead participatory mechanisms (consultation within the framework of urban projects or integrated land management) and public debate upstream of major development projects (such as the National Commission for Public Debate);
- to accompany the strategy and the development of these bodies (diagnosis of territory, market study, communication campaign, launching of a project, press relations...);
Know-how and skills
Theoretical and practical mastery of social science methods used in consulting: political and economic analysis; sociology of organizations, strategic analysis; sociology of political and cultural behavior; sociology of the media and new media; theory of communication and political communication; content analysis (semiological, morphological, lexicometric analysis); interview techniques, data collection including surveys, etc.
Mastery of new communication technologies and data processing software
Mastery of the various facets of the consulting activity: canvassing, response to calls for tender, preparation of specifications and estimates, customer follow-up, client feedback, management
Extensive knowledge of issues covering the communication, media and political sectors.
Methodological know-how in conducting diagnoses, market studies, developing arguments or recommendations

Professional integration
The Master's degree trains students for consulting jobs in the fields of research, consulting, strategy and communication. It is primarily intended for positions as consultants, project managers, study or research managers in the following structures
- Polling institutes, advertisers, consulting firms, research offices, lobbying firms ;
- Communication department, research or strategy department in companies, or their employers' associations (industry unions);
- Communication agencies ;
- Political institutions, NGOs
Due to the very strong supervision, all the students of the previous classes have so far validated their diploma.
92% of former graduates pursue a career in the research and consulting sector.
In September 2016, at the time of the graduation ceremony, more than half of the students were hired on permanent contracts and 1/3 on long-term fixed-term contracts (between 6 and 9 months).
