Overview
The goal is to provide training for careers related to the development of new technologies in agriculture and the analysis of policies and regional adaptation projects in the agricultural and rural sectors. Specifically, the program prepares students for careers such as development manager in local governments and chambers of agriculture; project and research manager in international and similar organizations, consulting firms, and international agencies; and software developer in private companies working in fields related to the program’s focus areas. Objectives
This training course enables participants to acquire:
- Knowledge: through the analysis of the technical and economic operations of agricultural holdings and the diagnostic analysis of agricultural regions in the context of climate change.
- Expertise: implementation of decision-support methods, forecasting, and strategic management in consulting initiatives at the individual and collective levels. Conducting surveys, creating maps, landscape and spatial analysis, statistical data analysis, and analysis of regional policies. Developing optimization models for production decisions at the farm and regional levels. Integrating biophysical and economic models to support decision-making in the management of natural resources and non-point source pollution in agriculture.
