Know-how and skills

Students learn how to design and program experiments, conduct the run, and analyze the data to put it in perspective with existing knowledge.

Particular attention is paid to public decision support. The student is thus able to test the effectiveness of various public policy instruments and measures in the context of a laboratory or field experiment, to analyze the experimental data and to propose a behavioral model that makes it possible to understand and extrapolate the effects of these policies (via issues of decision-making, mental and social representations, etc.). Indeed, controlling and reinforcing the effectiveness of public policies implies being able to carry out a rigorous and precise evaluation at each stage of the decision-making process and public action, but also to understand the interaction of these policies with the behavior and decisions of individuals and/or groups of individuals.

Organization

Knowledge control

The conjunction of two thematic fields requires an intensive leveling at the entrance of the M1 for economists (psychology courses) and psychologists (economics courses). The courses are then shared mainly by teacher-researchers from the UM's Economics Department and the UPVM's Subject and Society Sciences Department3. The involvement of the two universities and the two disciplines justifies a specific organization.
