This program is intended for students who wish to acquire a research-based education, mainly focused on economic analysis but also including some courses in management and economic sociology.

The training is based on the transmission of theoretical and methodological knowledge applied to issues of agricultural and agri-food development, food, natural resource management and the environment, both in developed and developing countries.

Professional integration

Economists holding this degree are capable of exercising management responsibilities in companies, public organizations and associations operating in the environment, agriculture and agri-food sectors. They master the statistical and computer tools of economics, as well as an aptitude for modeling and data processing.

The holder of the Master ECONOMY course Economics of Agricultural Development, Environment and Food carries out his/her activities in the following sectors

  • At the University. Higher education in agronomy or economics, large public applied research organizations: INRA, CIRAD, IRD, IRSTEA, CNRS, IFREMER
  • In engineering and design offices, large international organizations, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), research and development departments of large companies, local authorities, certain public or semi-public administrations
  • In banks, insurance companies, large industrial and commercial companies in the sector
  • In the French and European civil service (after competitive examination)

Generally speaking, the holder of the EcoDEVA Master's degree works as an executive in the public or private sector.

He or she may hold the following jobs: Local development advisor, analysis and development officer, study officer, project manager, economic consultant, economist or statistician engineer, teacher/researcher, researcher.

His degree makes him a specialist in environmental and natural resource economics, agricultural and agri-food development.
