This course provides an introduction to the regulations in effect in the fields of flavors and fragrances. Labor law issues will also be covered.

Gain an understanding of the regulations governing the use of additives and other ingredients in the food and beverage and fragrance industries. Understand the rules of the job market.

Course:

Regulations on Flavorings:

• Food Law: the Codex Alimentarius, European Union law, and French law.
• Quality Assurance in Industry: ISO Standards, the HACCP Framework, and the Good Practices Guide.
• Food additives: food additives and processing aids, flavorings (INCO Regulation or Regulation (EU) No. 1169/2011).
• Regulations on flavorings: pursuant to Regulation (EC) No. 1334/2008
• Regulations on food additives: pursuant to Regulation (EC) No. 1333/2008
• Chemical Hazard: Classification and labeling in accordance with the CLP Regulation (Regulation 1272/2008) + Safety Data Sheet in accordance with the REACH Regulation.

Perfume Regulations:
Overview of the regulatory environment for perfumes: decision-making bodies, standards, and regulations in place. Illustrated with concrete examples of how these rules are applied when a perfume is brought to market.

Labor Law: General Introduction to the Law; Formation of the Employment Contract; Performance of the Employment Contract; Termination of the Employment Contract.
