Presentation
The Master's degree in Public Administration aims to prepare students for Category A civil service examinations. It is based on a number of specific features:
- One-third of the teaching is carried out by professionals (advisors from the Regional Chamber of Accounts and Administrative Court, etc.), particularly with regard to practical exercises.
- Speakers (academics and external experts) frequently participate in competition juries, which allows for training that is particularly focused on what examiners and markers expect in civil service competitions.
- Particular emphasis is placed on general knowledge and summary writing, which are highly selective components of the entrance exams for competitive examinations.
- Preparation for the final admission oral exams is also organized (an average of six practice sessions for each student).
The advantages of the training program
Objectives
A comprehensive, tailor-made preparation program with a dual objective:
- Competition objective: to acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to pass the category A and A+ civil service examinations (entrance examinations for the IRA, local government attaché, public finance inspector, customs inspector, DGCCRF inspector, etc.).
This Master's 1 program is not only preparation for competitive exams, it is also a gateway to specialization in Master's 2:
- Academic objective: to continue on to a Master's 2 in Public Health Administration (M2 AEPS) or a Master's 2 in Senior Civil Service Careers (M2CSE).

What is the purpose of work-study programs?
Work-study programs serve as a springboard to help you enter the professional world. Your years in a work-study program allow you to discover employers who may be interested in hiring you.
The purpose of work-study programs is to give you direct exposure to your future profession.
Let yourself be tamed by the professional world and real life.
Why choose the work-study program at IPAG?
Because work-study programs have been available at IPAG since 2013.
You can prepare for civil service exams while working in a public administration setting: state services such as prefectures or the DGFIP (Public Finance Directorate), local services such as departments or municipalities, and finally public hospitals. You can also be an apprentice within social security services.
During oral exams, an apprentice has twice as much chance of succeeding.
