Description
This module will enable students to acquire :
Physiology basics : concept of homeostasis; levels of organization of the human body; compartments of the internal environment; study of the endocrine system; acid-base and hydro-mineral balance; anatomical and functional studies of the central and peripheral nervous systems.
Immunology basics :
General presentation of the immune system; study of T and B lymphocytes, antigen-presenting cells; study of antimicrobial immunity and complement.
Objectives
-Know-how :
In physiology, know the differences between cells, tissues, organs and systems; know the body's different fluid compartments; understand the regulations that contribute to homeostasis; integrate the anatomical and functional organization of the central and peripheral nervous systems; know the effectors of the peripheral nervous system, their regulation and function. Know the difference between hormones, neuro-hormones and neurotransmitters in terms of place of synthesis, chemical structure, receptors and regulation of secretion.
In immunology, learn about the different players in the immune response and the appropriate responses against bacteria and viruses.
-Skills: Acquire fundamental and basic notions of animal physiology and
Immunology, in order to integrate more complex and specific concepts.
