This course trains students in microbial identification and water analysis, focusing on four areas:

  • The microbial world: bacteria, cyanobacteria, fungi, algae, protozoa, viruses.
  • Microbial metabolism: metabolic types, nutrition, environmental influence.
  • Microbial ecology of the natural environment: interactions between microorganisms and their environments.
  • Microbiological control of water: principles, regulations, techniques
