This course trains students in microbial identification and water analysis, focusing on 4 areas:

  • The microbial world: bacteria, cyanobacteria, fungi, algae, protozoa, viruses.
  • Microbial metabolism: metabolic types, nutrition, environmental influences.
  • Microbial ecology of the natural environment: interactions between microorganisms and their environment.
  • Microbiological control of water: principles, regulations, techniques
