Description

The different treatment methods will be presented, along with the associated processes (physico-chemical, biological, free culture, fixed culture). The biological treatment of effluent will focus on the elimination of organic carbon, nitrogen and phosphorus. The principles of sizing processes and systems will also be covered. The course will follow the following outline:

  1. Effluent characterization and treatment principles
  2. Which treatment process to choose, depending on constraints
  3. Pre-treatment sizing
  4. Sizing secondary treatments
  5. Tertiary treatment sizing
