Description
This project allows students from different initial training backgrounds to apply the theoretical and/or technological concepts they have previously learned and in other modules of the training program, within the framework of studying a proposed mechanical system or one of their choice (after validation).
Objectives
- Mobilize the skills acquired in various fields of mechanics and/or mechanical technology,
- Make an effort in writing and oral presentation,
- Put a mechanical system into context and position it among equivalent solutions (state of the art).
- Create a technical file (overview and definition drawings, technical specifications, assembly diagram, dimensions),
- Establish a functional analysis of the system (interactor diagram, characterization of functions and interactors, FAST),
- Check the dimensions of standard components, dimension a specific part, and/or optimize/check the choice of material for a part.
- Measure the mechanical properties of the system (input-output law in terms of speed or force) or of a part of the system (mechanical strength, rigidity, etc.).
Mandatory prerequisites
- Kinematics, statics, and dynamics of rigid bodies,
- Second-year technology courses (technical communication, introduction to mechanical design, CAD, and mechanical systems simulation)
Recommended prerequisites:
- Behavior of materials and simple structures
