Description

This UE covers the study of mechanical systems as chains of rigid solids linked together by mechanical connections.

Mechanical systems will be studied from a kinematic, sthenic and energetic point of view.

The concepts of torsors, links, the Fundamental Principle of Statics, mass geometry, the Fundamental Principle of Dynamics and energy will be used in the study of mechanical systems to determine link forces and the equations of motion.

Objectives

We're putting the nail in the coffin of the 2 fundamental UE in mechanics: kinematics and statics of rigid solids (L1-S2) and dynamics of rigid solids (L2-S3).

  • Motion transmission: Kinematic torsor, links, simple chains, complex chains, cyclomatic number, kinematic mobility
  • Fundamental principle of dynamics: matrix geometry, inertia matrices, kinetic and dynamic torsorsors, torsors of transmissible forces in a connection, equations of motion
  • Kinetic energy, Power kinetic energy theorem, Lagrange equations
