Description
The UE "Biochemistry and molecular biology of the cell 2 " comes in complement of the UE "Biochemistry and molecular biology of the cell 1 " which will take place in parallel. In this course, the students will have to put into practice and deepen the theoretical knowledge acquired in "Biochemistry and molecular biology of the cell 1".
Objectives
Knowledge:
- Understand the general functioning of the cell cycle (mitosis and meiosis will be covered)
- Study of the consequences of a disruption of the cycle (cancers...)
Know-how :
- Mobilize knowledge in cell biology, molecular biology, biochemistry and microbiology to address a problem in the field or analyze experimental data (including micrographs).
- Know how to use a photonic microscope
- Follow an experimental protocol
- Perform a simple cyto/histological preparation
- Perform specific staining to observe organelles under light microscopy
- Master the squash technique to observe eukaryotic cells in division
- To represent a microscopic observation in the form of a captioned drawing, respecting the size proportions of the various cellular elements
- Make a scale on a drawing or a micrograph
- Write a report on the laboratory (including objective, protocol, captioned drawings, comments and conclusion)
- Synthesize knowledge for use in writing
-Know how to be :
- Work independently or in a team
- Write a report within a time limit
- Respect the rules of hygiene and safety of a laboratory
Necessary pre-requisites
- S1 UE " From molecule to cell ".
- UE of S2 " Biochemistry and molecular biology of the cell 1 ".
