The SAFIR program studies the development, evolution, and transmission of knowledge and examines different approaches to learning. It aims to build training and education skills related to engineering practices, as well as the analysis of situations that closely integrate the real activities of those working in the field of education and training. The identity and professionalism of the trainer are built within a community of practice through research and the implementation of training research activities.
Backed by various fields of research in education and training sciences,
this program mobilizes a multidisciplinary team of teachers and teacher-researchers.

Objectives

This program is part of a continuing education and professional certification initiative. After completing the master's degree, students may also pursue a doctorate. This program is designed to enable professionals in education, teaching, and training to advance within their institution or in other institutions. It may also lead to a career in research in the field of education and training.

Know-how and skills

The training content focuses on:
Theoretical insights into the development, evolution, and transmission of knowledge (including disciplinary knowledge and skills, didactic and inter-didactic know-how, etc.) in the field of education training, from an epistemological, historical, didactic, and methodological perspective.


Questions about the design, management, support, and evaluation of training programs. The perspective adopted is that of training engineering practices, both initial and continuing, university and institutional, integrating the issue of the trainer's actual activity.


And a personal research project leading to the completion of a thesis based on a training issue, supervised by a tutor and shared with all students during research seminars.

Program

Designed to be taken while continuing to work, the program is based on three components:
Several consecutive days of classes during the fall, winter, and spring school breaks. A research seminar spread out over the entire year. Individualized support from a tutor for the preparation of the thesis. The program takes place in Montpellier, and the research seminar can also be attended in Nîmes
. A digital platform provides access to various resources: course documents, bibliographic references, activities, and discussion forums.

Admission

Admission requirements

This two-year program (M1 and M2) is open to applicants who meet the following conditions: hold a bachelor's degree or equivalent (BAC +3) and submit an application (cover letter and resume) based on an interest, project, or actual experience in the field of education training.
Admission to the program may also be subject to validation of professional experience upon submission of an application (VAP85).
