Presentation
Objectives
The training aims to examine the concept of didactics as a discipline of research and training in its general dimensions, as well as in the specific context of teaching the chosen option. To this end, it questions teaching practices, the methods developed, student activity, and how teachers take this into account in the disciplinary field of the chosen option. The program therefore enables students to strengthen their skills in teaching and to progress towards positions of expertise or training.
The program also opens the door to further study at the postgraduate level (doctoral research) under certain conditions.
Target audience: this master's program is primarily intended for teachers (primary and secondary), traine
, educational advisors, etc. who wish to develop their knowledge and skills in one of the fields related to the teaching of the humanities:
1. teaching of plastic and visual arts,
2. teaching of French and literature,
3. teaching of history and geography.
Know-how and skills
The training content is organized around three areas:
1. Theoretical insights:
a) on issues affecting schools and teaching within the framework of the core curriculum in M1,
b) on general teaching concepts as well as those specific to each subject option.
2. Training in the reflective analysis of teaching practices, methods, and situations that promote the acquisition of tools (conceptual and methodological) for reflecting on one's own teaching or training practices.
3. A research approach based on the conceptual and methodological frameworks
developed by LIRDEF (Interdisciplinary Laboratory for Research in Education and Training) and in particular the Knowledge, Practices, Didactics (SPD) axis for this course:
a) in M1 as part of the core curriculum through an introduction to research, the use
of scientific articles, and the preparation of a research project,
b) in M2 within the specific framework of the DIDHUM program through the development of a thesis, which involves the problematization of an aspect of the profession, the construction of a theoretical framework, and the construction and analysis of field data.
Program
The program is organized in a hybrid format on the Montpellier campus. Classes are held in person on Wednesdays and during one week of fall, winter, and spring breaks.
