Objectives
The course is designed for candidates for the external competitive examination for Principal Education Counselor (CPE). It prepares students for the written exams, with teaching in the human and social sciences by teacher-researchers (history, philosophy and sociology of education, adolescent psychology, public policy, pedagogy) and training in essay and summary methodology. Teaching relating to the institutional context (knowledge of the profession, organization and operation of the education system, ethical and legal issues) is provided mainly by professionals from the French Ministry of Education. The course also prepares students for the oral exams, with intensive training in interview tests and professional situations. The program also introduces students to research.
Know-how and skills
The training is based on the professional skills repository for the teaching and education professions, and more specifically on the spe cific competencies of the CPE (decree of July 1, 2013). Students develop skills in the analysis of professional situations in school life, student support, project engineering, interviewing and team management. The training program enables students to acquire a mastery of disciplinary knowledge related to education and to develop a reflexive posture linked to research.
