Mention Comparative politics

  • Master in Politics and Comparative Public Action
    Coordinator: Laura MICHEL

The IDIL Master's degree "Comparative Politics and Public Action" is a selective Master's degree in political science open to multidisciplinarity. It focuses mainly on the fields of political sociology and public policy analysis.

Offered at the Faculty of Law and Political Science of the University of Montpellier, this master's degree in political science (one of three in the institution) is the only one in France to be placed under the heading of "Comparative Politics". In this respect, it emphasizes sensitivity to international comparative openness as a research approach, in the profile of students and teachers and in the use of English as a working language.

Example of teaching units:

- International politics
- Political sociology of elites
- European political institutions

The Master's degree in "Comparative Politics and Public Action" is a two-year Master's degree (120 ECTS as a single course in the "Comparative Politics" field) that offers an in-depth program in political science specialized in political sociology and public policy with an international outlook.

It offers preparation for all professions requiring intensive work, mastery of rigorous methods, critical synthesis, development of solid and convincing arguments, and advanced analysis, both at the applied level (public or private sector professions) and at the fundamental level (research training). For students wishing to pursue their studies in doctoral studies (at the University of Montpellier or in other universities in France or abroad), it constitutes the preferred training.
The working languages are French and English.
