Objectives

The aim of the internship is to introduce the student to a professional environment through active participation.
For a Master's degree in science didactics, this may involve scientific and
technical mediation associations, mediation departments in scientific and technical institutions such as
museums or universities, companies producing training or
educational and didactic resources, science and society relations or training departments in
local authorities, training or educational engineering departments in universities or
companies, research laboratories, IRES or IREM groups, etc.

The internship lasts a minimum of 22 days (i.e. 154 hours) and must be covered by a
internship agreement, i.e. the location, tasks and tutor of the internship must be validated by the EU referent(s)
.
The internship agreement stipulates that a tutor must follow the intern in the host structure. The
internship is unpaid unless it lasts more than two months. The internship can be carried out
in groups or over the course of the year.
The internship can be the subject of a task to be carried out in agreement with the host organization.
The duration of this task must be compatible with the duration of the internship; the writing of the internship report
is an integral part of the total duration of the internship (cf. specific framing document
). Depending on the project, the task may be oriented towards research or towards
the analysis of professional elements.
The internship may also provide an opportunity to collect empirical data for the TER, either by
conducting a survey or building up a corpus.

Knowledge control

The UE counts for 3 ECTS and is assessed at 100% in a Terminal examination which includes:

  • an internship report submitted to the teacher-supervisor at the end of the internship;
  • a 30-minute oral presentation of the internship report: 15 minutes for presentation and 15 minutes for questions. The date is to be determined by the teacher-supervisor. The presence of the internship supervisor, while not compulsory, is desirable.
  • the assessment of the internship by the internship tutor.

Documents to be completed

  • Before the start of the internship, the host organization discusses the internship with the trainee and proposes a
    outline of the tasks, the number of hours and the period considered for each task, followed
    or not by additional comments. This document is discussed with the head of the UE,
    in liaison with the teacher-referent, the other heads of year and/or TER (if a link with the
    internship is established).
  • Once an agreement has been reached, an internship agreement is drawn up between the intern,
    , the teacher and the internship tutor, setting out the partnership framework. The agreement should be drawn up at
    via the Montpelier ENT on the PStage tab. The contact teacher for Montpellier is
    Nicolas Saby.
  • At the end of the internship, an evaluation grid is filled in by the internship tutor, which must be
    submitted to the referent supervisor - see evaluation grid below.

Tasks of internship tutors and the mentor-teacher
The role of the internship tutor is to :

    with the lead teacher and any other members of the teaching team;
  • ensure the trainee's integration into the work team;
  • monitor and adjust the content of assignments according to the difficulties encountered ;
  • evaluate the trainee's work at the end of the training period, in consultation with the lead teacher.

The teacher-referent is a member of the DDS master's teaching team. His/her role is to :

  • ensure the trainee's progress through the various stages of research, implementation
    and evaluation of the internship and internship report;
  • helping and advising trainees on their internship and, more broadly, on their
    professional project;
  • ensure the quality of the internship, in line with the specifications.
