Opening

The aim of the Openings (UEO) is to enable students to discover different and complementary courses to those related to their training, and to reward students' investment in activities aimed at personalizing their curriculum with a grade that counts towards their semester average.

Depending on the type of opening chosen, this teaching may be aimed at deepening disciplinary knowledge and developing cross-disciplinary skills to promote academic success, employability, and/or full exercise of citizenship.

In specific cases where the student has already completed and validated a master's level course, this introductory course unit may be subject to validation of prior learning (VAE), thereby exempting the student from taking this UEO.

The assessment of this course unit in the DDS master's program will be separate from that of the course unit in the introductory program. It will mainly consist of a 2-3 page report including: a brief description of the content of the UEO followed by the activities carried out as part of this course unit, and the student's reflection on the contribution of this UEO to their personal training path and career plans. 

This report should therefore highlight the student's involvement in UEO activities and how the content contributes to the deepening of disciplinary knowledge, the development of cross-disciplinary skills for academic success, employability, and/or the full exercise of citizenship. 

The WEU assessment for the Master's in Science Education will also take into account: 

• the student's initial reasoning for choosing the UEO; 
• any initial reservations on the part of officials regarding the choice of the WEU; 
• the student's effective and certified participation in the UEO; 
• Possible evaluation by UEO teachers, MOOC validation certificate. Deadline for submitting documents for evaluation. 

All the elements required for the evaluation of the opening EU must be submitted to the EU manager by June 1, 2024, at the latest.
