Description
The aim of the UEO (UE d'Ouverture) is to enable students to discover courses that are different from and complementary to those linked to their course, and to recognize, by means of a grade taken into account in the semester average, the investment made by students in activities designed to personalize their curriculum.
Depending on the type of openness chosen, this teaching may be designed to deepen disciplinary knowledge and develop cross-disciplinary skills to support academic success, employability and/or the full exercise of citizenship.
In special cases, where the student has already completed and validated a Master's-level course, this opening UE can be the subject of a validation of acquired experience (VAE), thus exempting the student from taking this UEO.
Knowledge control
The assessment of this UE in the DDS master's program will be distinct from that of the UE in the host program. It will be based on a 2 to 3-page report giving a brief description of the content of the UEO followed, the activities carried out as part of this UE, and the student's reflexivity on the contribution of this UEO to his or her personal training path and professional project.
This report should therefore highlight the student's involvement in the WEU activities, and the way in which the content contributes to the deepening of disciplinary knowledge, the development of cross-disciplinary skills in the service of academic success, employability and/or the full exercise of citizenship.
The assessment of the WEU within the framework of the Didactics of Science master's degree will also take into account :
- the student's initial justification for choosing the WEU;
- any initial reservations about the choice of WEU;
- the student's effective and attested participation in the UEO ;
- evaluation by UEO teachers, MOOC validation certificate Date documents handed in for evaluation.
All elements required for the assessment of the opening UE must be submitted to the UE supervisor by June 1, 2024.
