Objectives

General Objectives:

Book and field determination: to understand the difficulties and constraints of certain taxonomic groups and the methods of identification of the flora.

Develop a personal approach to identification

 

The teaching is presented in the form of 3 sequences. Each sequence is open to continuing education. The order of the sequences can be modified according to the availability of competent external speakers on the taxonomic groups.

 

Sequence 1: Main characteristics of plants and other groups

Principles and techniques of identification (collections, books, software)

Diversity and main groups (green lineage vs. fungi)

Focus on fungi, lichens, freshwater algae (including characeae), bryophytes (collections, books, software)

Pteridophytes and Gymnosperms

 

3 sessions of 3 hours, followed by a personal work (Pl@ntGame, Pl @ ntNet @)

 

Sequence 2 : Angiosperms

Presentation and handling of the Flore-Num software

Vegetative morphology and floral organs, fruits and seeds

2 sessions of 3 hours, followed by a personal work on the writing of a card on the characteristics of some families

Sequence 3 Identification of vascular plants

Presentation of the family cards

Presentation of the 10 main families

2 sessions of 3 hours
