Overview
The Bachelor's degree program in Science, Education, and Outreach at the University of Montpellier is administered by the Faculty of Education (hereinafter referred to as FDE). There are two tracks:
Preparatory Program for Elementary School Teaching
Interdisciplinarity and Professions in Teaching, Education, and Training [FDE]
Within the "Interdisciplinary Studies and Careers in Teaching, Education, and Training" track, there is a sub-track titled "Engineering Sciences and Technology for Teaching and Training" (STIEF).
At the same time, the Faculty of Sciences (FDS), in collaboration with the FDE, offers a program titled “Science in Elementary Education and Science Communication” (SPDMS), which trains students who plan to become elementary school teachers or science communicators.
Objectives
The main objective is to prepare students to become teachers and to consider pursuing a Master’s degree in Elementary or Secondary Education (MEEF) or a Master’s degree in Science Communication.

Organization
Program
- The Preparatory Program for Elementary School Teachers (PPPE) is shifting from a first year spent primarily in high school to a third year spent primarily at a university.
L1: 75% Jean Monnet High School and 25% Montpellier School of Education
L2: 50% Jean Monnet High School and 50% Montpellier School of Education
L3: 25% at Jean Monnet High School and 75% at the Montpellier School of Education
- The Interdisciplinary Program in Teaching, Education, and Training (PMEEF) is offered at five campuses: Carcassonne, Mende, Montpellier, Nîmes, and Perpignan. The program is divided into six semesters over three years. The third year offers students the option to pursue the “Education and Training” track, which prepares them for a career as a CPE.
- The Industrial Sciences and Technology for Education and Training (STIEF) track is offered exclusively in the third year of the bachelor’s program at the Faculty of Education in Montpellier.
Admission
Admission Requirements
Recent high school graduates or those seeking to change career paths must apply through Parcoursup.
Students with a BUT or DUT degree in technology who wish to enroll in the L3 STIEF program may apply through Ecandidat.
Target Audience
Recent high school graduates and high school graduates pursuing a career change.
Mandatory Prerequisites
Have earned a high school diploma.

Continuing Education
In the MEEF master's program:
-Elementary School Teacher (1st Grade)
-Elementary School Teacher, Regional Languages (Occitan or Catalan)
For those who completed the L3 STIEF track as part of the MEEF master's program:
-High School: Industrial Engineering Sciences, Industrial Sciences and Technology (SII-STI)
In the Master's program in Education and Training Sciences:
-Training Design in French and English as Foreign Languages (EIFFALE)
-Artistic and Cultural Mediation (MAC)
-Corporate Social Responsibility and Sustainable Development, Education, Health, Environment, and Citizenship (ReSoDDe-ESEC)
-Transitions, Training Design, and Job Transformation (TransForM)
In the Master's program in Science Communication.
