The Bachelor’s Degree in Law can be pursued as a “General Bachelor’s Degree with a Health Care Track” (L.A.S.). A “health minor” then replaces certain courses in the Bachelor’s in Law program to allow students to either enter the second year of a health studies program in the MMOP track (Medicine, Midwifery, Dentistry, and Pharmacy) or continue their legal studies.

Objectives

The Bachelor of Laws with a “Health Care Access” track (LAS) is a program designed primarily to provide students with a solid foundation of legal knowledge and skills, while also enabling them to apply to MMOP programs (Medicine, Midwifery, Dentistry, Pharmacy).

The LAS Droit program consists of first-, second-, and third-year courses.

Thefirst year of the LAS is divided into two tracks:

  • LOSI (Bachelor's Degree with an Integrated Health Track)

The first year of the LOSI Law program consists of courses in the “Law Major” (48 ECTS) and the “Health Minor” (12 ECTS), with the latter taught by the University of Montpellier’s Schools of Medicine and Pharmacy. This program is open only to high school graduates and students changing their academic track who have not previously studied health-related subjects. If a student successfully completes the first year, they may apply to the health-related track(s) that interest them. If admitted tothe second year of the MMOP program, they will continue their studies at the relevant faculty.

  • LOSC (Bachelor's Degree with a Health Studies Track)

The LOSC Law program allows students to pursue the “health minor” (12 ECTS) in addition to the 60 ECTS required for the first, second, or third year of the Law program. The first year of the LOSC program is open to students who have not completed the PASS but wish to continue with the health track with a view to admission to health-related programs at the end of the second year (after earning 120 ECTS in Law and 12 ECTS in the health minor) or at the end of the third year (after earning 180 ECTS credits in Law and 12 ECTS credits in the health minor).

Thesecond year of the LOSC Law program (LAS 2) is divided into two tracks:

  • L2 Customized Program with the Supplemental Health Option

This program is open to students who have successfully completed the PASS and taken the “law minor” as part of their health sciences degree program

  • L2 LOSC (Bachelor's Degree with a Health Studies Track)

This program is open to students who have successfully completed the L1 LOSC or thefirst year of the LOSI program.

The3rd year of the LOSC Law program (LAS 3) is open to students who have successfully completed the second year of the LOSC program.

Upon completion of the LOSC Law L2 or L3 program, students may—provided they have earned 120 or 180 ECTS credits and 12 ECTS credits from the “health minor”—reapply to the health studies program (MMOP).

During the LAS and PASS years, students may apply— up to two times —for one or more health-related programs among those offered by the University of Montpellier.
